Final prep for Illuxcon
I’m getting the final bits and pieces together for Illuxcon today – can’t wait to drive in and see all the wonderful people who will be gathered there and the gorgeous art on display!
Sadly one of my paintings won’t be making it to Illuxcon – because it has been sold! I will have large prints of Bittersweet available for purchase, however the original will be winging it’s way to it’s new home when I return from Illuxcon!
I will be bringing a new piece and depending on how much sleep I get tonight it will have a companion piece. “Spock” is a new Gouache and Acrylic piece and will be shown in the Showcase this weekend! I was inspired to work on this piece because of a WONDERFUL discovery I made online – Thomas Blackshear has put out two videos on the techniques of David Grove and Bernie Fuchs. I am utterly in love with the gouache wipeout technique which is flowing right along with my current experiments with gouache. Check the videos out – they are wonderful!
