Oil Studies For Illustration

These are paintings I have done as studies or experiments in pursuit of creating a final illustration. I have given myself challenges such as painting six paintings at one time, or applying a lighting scheme from a favorite painting to one of my own. These are not what I would consider finished works but they have a quality of their own in showing my process.
